How Would Life Look for Black Americans After Reparations?

In celebration of the launch of our sponsor's new novel "Nothing Will Come Between Us" we would like to know your opinion regarding our lives post-reparations.
  • What does a post-reparations America look like to you?
  • Where would we live?
  • Who would be our enemies?
  • What should be our priorities?
  • How should we ensure that everyone remains on code?
The novel "Nothing Will Come Between Us" is Author Josiah Jay Starr's take on all of the above.

Nothing WIll Come Between Us 255.png

The novel presents this alt-reality through the eyes of Nuria Sellers, an Agent who finds purpose in defending her Colony against Anti-Black threats. What we really like about Nothing Will Come Between Us is its grounded nature. Nuria is not your sterile comic book cut-out hero; she is gritty, nuanced, and imperfect. In this narrative we find her navigating the struggles of a post-reparations America in addition to the traumas of PTSD, constant betrayal, and the stressors of a failing marriage. Nothing Will Come Between Us is Black and proud, this is not a book that caters to White American sensibilities. This is by us and for us. It tells the narrative as if it's you, me, and us going through the trials and tribulations of an American society dealing with Black American equity.

P.S Author @josiah starr will be available to answer any questions you may have about the novel or any other works of Spirit of 1811 Publishing.

Man exonerated after 43 years in prison

Kevin Strickland was exonerated after 43 years being in prison. It has become one of the longest wrongful convictions in U.S. history. He was convicted for a triple murder by an all-White jury in 1979. He was sentenced to life in prison without the chance of parole for 50 years. He said he did not commit this crime. On top of it, the guy who admitted to the crime, said he wasn't even there.

There's no mention on whether or not he will be getting a settlement from this, but if I was him, I'd sue the state for keeping him in prison all of those years. I mean, considering it's a wrongful conviction, he should get pay for each year he was in there. Guy deserves a nice retirement now.

Twitch streamers you would recommend

I've been kinda checking out Twitch lately, and was on the lookout for some streamers. It doesn't have to be gaming streamers. Twitch has become more than just gaming. There are people who just chat, some talk politics, some people stream their podcasts, music sessions, and more. Hell, the place has hot tub streamers if that's your thing.

Basically, I'm looking for streamers who you enjoy watching. I like streamers who interact with chat, because sometimes it makes for a fun show. And sometimes I don't mind watching a game stream. But mostly I focus on those just chatting streams, or streams not focussed so much on gaming. I know some stream shows and I believe some have streamed public domain movies.

Looking forward to your suggestions.

Women may now be required to sign up for selective service

Women haven't been required to sign up for selective service until now, that is if this new amendment gets passed into law. Much like men who had to sign up around their 18th birthday, women may now have to also sign up for selective service once they hit the age of 18. They will have until the age of 25 to sign up.

Do you think this is a good idea? Honestly I'm for it. This is a first step in equal rights for women especially, as they weren't required to even sign up. As well, to my knowledge, weren't seeing actual war or battle until recently. So it seems men and women are going to be a bit more equal when it comes to the US Army.

With selective service, that just means that when a war does happen, those people could be drafted to fight correct?

Anyway, discuss your opinions on this. Do you agree with it? Or do you think it should just be men who are required to sign up when they turn 18?

So a friend wants to set me up...

A friend of mine's fiance has a cousin who she wants to set me up with. He is a light skin dude (mixed) with pretty green eyes. She wants us to go to the wedding together but was hoping we could actually date first and go as a couple. They are getting married at the end of January. I saw some pics and he is an attractive man. He is about 6'2, nice built but on the thinner side, working on starting up his own business, and has a lot going for him (already owns his own house). The only thing is, he does have a daughter from a past relationship of whom he takes care of full time. The mother skipped state when she was 2 years old and basically dumped her on him. His ex was a white woman so the little girl is more white than black. I don't have an issue with that though. She is a cute girl and all and no baby momma drama in the picture but my concern is that if it became serious, I might treat our children better than her. I always had this worry when dating men who already had kids. I am not sure how I feel about it. She is 6 years old now and he is 32. What would you do in this situation? Any advice?

You notice any new shortages in your area?

I keep reading and hearing about people having food shortages and trouble finding certain things but I have yet to see it. I mean some stuff is stocked lighter on the shelves and I might have to go to two stores instead of one to get what I need but nothing as bad as other people have been saying. I feel like this is some kind of scam or something to encourage hoarding to get us to spend more at this point cause the economy is in this crapper lol
