She gave us our props without trying to latch on/tether to our culture! She maintains her Caribbean identity, but still shows love to her FBA/ADOS cousins. Delineation works, and it keeps the Diaspora intact. Blessings & respect to that queen! ✊🏾
One million percent agree. So many of our folks want money to pay bills, flex on other Black folks, buy a mansion, buy nice cars, etc but not gain empowerment as you have eloquently explained.All of that being said, in regards to tweet #1, while I appreciate acknowledgement of our cool. I would trade all that coolness for Black Americans to become politically, militarily, and financially strong. Being cool is cool, but it doesn't mean much when you don't have food to eat, water to drink, or a.pot to piss in.
