The Bunche Center earned $1M from the CA Reparations Task Force to make graphics, a website, and a place to host listening parties and they failed on those deliverables. Chairperson Kamilah Moore had to make flyers with her own budget.

As Tariq Nasheed articulated it; IF 'black' people's lineage can be traced to the 1870 Census, then those persons would qualify for Reparations.

We are not from any place else. We are indigenous to this land. This is a debt owed to us for the sins of America! If you can't trace your lineage back to slavery and before, this is not for you!

California group votes to limit reparations to slave descendants

The task force will meet again and hold a series of meetings as a report is due by June with a reparations proposal due by July 2023 for the Legislature to consider turning into law.

This is not fully true. There has been no reparations bill passed but the task force to determine eligibility determined only descendants of american slaves will be eligible if passed.

In order to qualify you have to have proof you are a descendant of the American enslaved and part of that is just tracing an ancestor back to before 1900.

There may be a small contingent of immigrants that came here in very early migrations but that population is so minute it’s not worth crying over.
