Instead of releasing their shows episodes all in one day, Netflix may be changing things around a bit, but releasing shows weekly instead of all in one go like they are known for. Amazon Prime and Disney + kinda do the weekly episode release. Amazon releases The Boys first three episodes and then aired a new episode every week after.
I get why they're doing it. It keeps people subscribed longer. And I think it helps keep a show fresh for a while. Instead of binging it all in one shot, I can get excited for a new episode to drop each week. I know some will complain about it, but I think it's a good thing. Yeah you're paying more, but whenever I get Netflix and other streamers, I tend to get it for the month or two during the airing of a show I like anyway, so it works for me.
