If we have any person who is native African or lineage/parents/ancestry or African who was colonized.
Some possible questions:
*Nation by nation basis or tribe by tribe basis?
* How should it be paid?
* What about Indians (India) and other ethnic groups in Africa?

The Durban Conference against Racism

At the Durban Conference against Racism, it was suggested that the Western world owed reparations to Africa. These reparations would be for the slave trade and colonialism, and even for the post-colonial era.

First, the reparations is owed. With that said, and at the risk of sounding disrespectful, I think its seen as a come up because they are broke. There are true, genuine leaders or scholars there who see it purely through reparative justice lenses.

But I think the general populace don't see it like that. There is just too much white zaddy worshiping going on. Too much white Jesus. I've been to east and west Africa. The white booty kissing is way too pervasive. My guess is they will accept an apology and some symbolic ish and not nearly as much money as they should be asking for.

Many of these countries still have a fair amount of tourism tied to Europe. Not only that, you have some countries like a few in west Africa whose currency is controlled by France. I can see some individual people with influence making an eloquent case but the masses? Nah, they aren't going to see their former colonizers as bad. Many tryna get to France, the UK, or any other spot. Too many see a white man or white woman as the prize.

Reparations will get steam once America pays it and they'll see it as a 'what about us?' thing. All that said, a few questions. What about tribes actively involved in the slave trade? Do their members get it? Those same tribes were also colonized as well, so?

Direct payments or the government gets the money and decides what to do with it?

It should look like how the Marshall Plan looked in Europe and Japan.
    • A comprehensive infusion in cash into each nation
    • A build up of manufacturing capability and capacity
    • National training programs to skill up the populace
    • Business grants to help entrepreneurs fill in vital gaps within the economy
    • The ability to operate in the World market untethered to European gain or interest

    These are solid ideas.

The two things they need are infrastructure and debt reduction or even debt forgiveness.

The one thing that provides a lot of jobs to the masses, especially the poor unskilled is infrastructure. Of all the continents, Africa has the least amount of paved roads. And a need for tunnels and bridges, etc. Korea and China got their populace into working class by building roads, bridges, tunnels, government buildings, etc. This gets men of working age with a paycheck who in turn can now be able to get married and a modest home.

Also factories to produce their own stuff instead of importing it. Simple things. Making your own pots and pans, etc.

The other thing that they MUST do to level up from there is provide a reason for their smartest to stay in the country than go abroad and live. They send money home at first, but if they stay and have kids overseas, that money dries up. That brain drain has to stop. Probably more Nigerian engineers and doctors of Nigerian descent outside Nigeria than inside maybe, I'm guessing.

Jay Your response brings great attention to a specific reparative desire and goal of reparations. Since the United States destroyed and allowed the destruction of black American townships and cities, they must repair the blight, the neglect. This should be a critical demand and a huge part of reparation’s reparative agenda. I’m not sure if the CTF has even discussed this as one of the recompense or reparative forms.

Princess El-Bey this aimed at African Reparations but I think it applies in both cases. RCNAL I agree, if they are financially encumbered like Haiti there is no way they can rebuild, they will still be enslaved. I feel like you expanded on the ideas I mentioned in greater detail.

One of the theories is that the government will pay reparations not in the real world but inside the metaverse. Let's hope it doesn't happen.
