DEI is a white liberal creation. Gay, Latino, Women, Handicapped, is part of DEI but the term got weaponized to mean Black only. Have you seen any non Black appointment from the above groups be called DEI? Rest my case.
The right wing, white supremacists have made ANY black promotion to an elite position to be deemed DEI.
If we are going to use their criteria for DEI then:
* Clarence Thomas' whole life is DEI. His getting into both Holy Cross and Yale law school. His grades weren't great. He got appointed to the Supreme Court by the elder Bush, 100 percent because he was Black. Thurgood Marshall died, and Bush said he was only considering Black conservatives.
* Larry Elder's education is DEI then. Brown University, an Ivy League school. Michigan Law school. Also, he got his big break in radio from Dennis Prager who said, this documented, that he heard a Black man saying conservative things about the Black community. And he got him from Ohio at the time to Los Angeles. That's textbook DEI.
* Candace Owens got her start by Charlie Kirk of Turning Point, USA because she is a Black woman and was going to go to college campuses to convince Blacks to leave the Dem party. She had no college degree, nothing, text book DEI.
Thomas Sowell, actually got into Harvard from Howard only because 2 Howard professors wrote a glowing reference. This was late '50s, Civil Rights was a huge issue, Harvard, my supposition, took that into consideration to diversify. Harvard had an unofficial Black and Jewish quota at the time. Furthermore, post academic career, the Brookings Institute, for a fact, only hired him because he as a Black conservative. DEI by definition.
Dr. Ben Carson, Neurosurgeon, appointed by Donald Trump to be in charge of HUD (Housing, Urban) despite zero experience about housing, DEI by definition.
The right wing weaponizes their own version of DEI against us and have the gall to talk about DEI? Lastly, when white organizations hire Blacks under DEI or not, they promote, hire Blacks that will not rock the boat. Claudine Gay from what we are now hearing is a sell out. They ran Dr. Cornell West out of Harvard and he was so so with his fight against white supremacy.
