Windows 10 vs Windows 11
Windows been trash since Windows 8 which is a damn shame. It’s only consumer product I like from Microsoft is office.
I roll with Windows 10 cause that's what I'm used to. Windows 11 is nice and clean though, but it's more of a spit shine than a true upgrade.
People can bash windows all you want, but if the Macbook didn't have Parallels it would be going back. There are some things I need that MacOS just isn't compatible with.
Honestly, once you get a high end machine... I don't think there is really a better OS it's just about what you are used to.
I'm converting this MacBook Pro into Chrome, Mac, Windows hybrid, so I can do whatever I want or need on it.

No offense, but think about all the other things that you willfully close yourself off to. For instance, could you use that "I'm used to it" excuse for a car? Have you eaten any foreign foods, or are you an American food person because that's"what you are used to". Computing is about potential to solve problems. Anyhow Steve Jobs said it better:

You tripping. I just dropped over 2 racks on this dam MacBook Pro on Sunday. I'm right where I want to be. I have stacks and stacks of Windows laptops and Chromebooks and I wanted to try something different for a change.
Connect to my VPN to remote into my home server. It doesn't work on Monterey for whatever reason. There are other work tools that I need like you said. I think my great grandkids are going to using some old version of Java and Internet Explorer for something that just aint ever getting updated.
Edit: Instead of buying an Office license, I activated an Office 2019 Professional Pro license in Windows instead of Buying one for the Mac. It works for me. I have a Work environment in Windows and a Personal one on Mac OS

I'm only going by what you type into this thread. Not only did you, in some way, buy a MS license, you got taken for 2 grand on a Mac. If I ever become short on cash, I need you near me.

Your inductive reasoning would have served you better. There is already a war in the open source community concerning this topic. FreeBSD is more permissible than GNU/Linux.
Open source is just better. BSD has been the framework behind MacOS and the operating system behind Sony Playstation 4 and 5.

Honestly, I've never tried FreeBSD. I gave Ubuntu a try a few years back, but for some reason that laptop kept getting super hot. I use to try different things just cause. When I was in college, in order to skip the labs, I had to buy Visual Studio. I remember thinking that, it I was programming in C++, why do I need to pay. The language is a free standard. That's when I started looking for C++ compilers and that led me to GNU/Linux. Furthering my education, I then looked at FreeBSD.
So, ultimately, in my mind when I hear about MacOS, I thinking of a BSD clone.
Today I am a kernel developer and maintainer. Could I have gotten to see the kernel with a MS education? I learned through real world software and I am grateful for the open source community for showing the source.
Man, I never want to see Visual Studio again. Stupid C++ class, and I was so excited about learning it to. Only thing I learned was how to look up the answers online. I guess learning is for suckers.
I really don't like Apple the OS's. They really aren't all that people make them out to be. What gets Apple by is the app support.
I remember hearing that MacOS was darn near a clone of one of those operating systems. I didn't know it was FreeBSD. Hell, Windows 11 is a clone of MacOS and they trying to run android apps too. I guess there's no integrity out here in this tech game.
C++ is a beast for most projects and it is more versatile than most languages out there. If you start learning it again, I'll help you along the way. B1 promise.
C++ 20 might be out now and it has modernized a lot of things over the years.
I so mad. The class didn't teach anything. They told us what textbook to get and we had to take 5 timed multiple choice tests. We didn't meet or anything. I just had to log on and take the tests. They don't give you enough time to plug your code in to get to the answer... but it's the exact same tests every year so the answers were sitting right there online. that killed all my motivation. I do want to pick it up though. I want to get into Python too.
Phython is a rockstar right now. From my experience, Python is used for very small jobs and extending a program's functionality.
My opinion: Start with a solid compiled language and then use the object oriented lessons you learned to gain more functionality. If you're going to program for the web, scripts are the standard.

What do you not like about MacOS are you missing PKUNZIP or WinZip?
Well of course it’s Nazi like it’s someone’s IP. I wouldn’t want you having access to my source code that I paid millions to develop.
How much did it cost to build Linux? Of course the answer isn't zero but Linux is not strictly for the benefit of shareholders. It's a human endeavor.
For someone like me that do not like the idea of gangs, I'm not buying into the Windows or Mac gangs. Purely open source is just enough for me.
I'm still learning it. I stay on parallels as a crutch until I get more acclimated. I feel like Mac OS is just as scattered and disjointed as Windows. You can tell there are parts of it that want to be an iPad, there are parts that want to be a modern desktop OS, and then there are parts that still stuck in 1992.
What I like is the premium feel, and the newness of it all. These speakers blow every other laptop away. I love the Touch Bar.I don't even know why it got so much hate. And I like that I don't have to carry this iPhone mini around with me for iMessages and FaceTime.
You just gotta get used to it bruh. Seems like you still viewing it through a windows lens. Everything about is better than windows IMO and I was a hardcore Mac hater when I was broke.
Yes I don't like any version after Windows 7 as all new OS coming with new features but have many bugs and stop using many features which we used to have. It is difficult for Network PCs where people still using Windows 7 which was ended quite long now.Both trash. End of story
