Eddie Murphy back when he started was one of the best comedians and actors out there. But I think once the 90s really rolled in, is when he started to take more child friendly roles. Stuff like The Nutty Professor (though I admit it's a guilty pleasure film), Dr. Dolittle, Daddy Daycare, and many other films I'm forgetting.
I mean, I can't blame the dude. I imagine that's around the time his kids were growing up, so he probably took anything he could to support his family. But it kinda sucks that he started to make, for the most part, crappy kids movies. But I saw a glimmer of hope when he did the recent Dolomite movie, as that felt like Eddie Murphy, even though it was a biopic about a real person, I felt like he was back to doing more R rated comedy again.
Do you think Eddie Murphy is going to do more comedic R rated roles again? Or will he end up going back to the norm and doing kid friendly stuff? Then again, I could see him just calling it quits, because wasn't he taking somewhat of a break before he did Dolomite?
