Honestly, I don't care if you call it Christmas, the holidays or anything else. I will call it Christmas myself, as that is what I grew up on. And hey, sometimes I will say the Holidays when I know there are other holidays happening. But for the most part, I say Christmas when I am speaking of that specific holiday. I only celebrate the likes of Thanksgiving and Christmas around these months, so when I refer to them, I say them.
Do you know anyone who makes a fuss when you say Christmas though? Or do most people you know just not care? I know people near me who have complained about it. Saying "Oh you should say the Holidays, It's more inclusive" or something along those lines.
Anyway, I've made it a habit to say happy holidays to people outside of my family, or people I see out in public, but close friends and family I say Merry Christmas. Unless I know someone who celebrates another holiday, then I will say happy Holidays.
