Facebook still owns apps like Instagram and Whatsapp. So even if Facebook eventually goes under, they still have other apps like Instagram and Whatsapp. Facebook was much better in the late 2000s and very early 2010s. MySpace was still overall better though despite its flaws, viruses and all.

Facebook is boring. It's just pretty much scrolling through a bunch of nothing. And a bunch of ads.

It used to be where you scroll through and see interesting posts from people. But now Facebook is shadow banning people.

If you post something does not politically inline with what they like then they don't show it to people.

If you post some BS that isn't about anything just something funny then they'll show it.

I just randomly go to people's page sometimes to see what they've posted. And there's all kinds of posts that never show up on the timeline because Facebook is shadow banning.

To me that's boring. Even if you don't agree with me if you're going to let me on your site as long as I'm not saying anything illegal then you should show my post. There is no free speech on Facebook anymore.

They also bloated the hell out of the interface. They have all types of features all over the place, makes it difficult to actually focus on the content.

A day after Facebook reported that its streak of user growth had come to an end, its parent company's stock plunged more than 26% in a staggering loss that obliterated more than $230 billion in market value and triggered Wall Street's worst drop in close to a year.

Do you think people is now moving away from Facebook? Is it ending their dominance?
Their dominance might be ending. Facebook owns Insta and Whatsapp, so that might keep them relevant.

People are fed up with lizard boys crap. I am actually disappointed people didn't start leaving the platform sooner knowing how much of a criminal that dude is. Selling people's private data and censoring them. People need to keep leaving and never go back.
it just goes to show you how much people don't care about their rights to privacy or civil liberties.

Well, every business has its ups and downs. Especially recently, post-pandemic times have been bad! You can see, even Bitcoin has experienced a bearish trend. Yes, i would say FB is losing the umph that it had back in the early 2000s. But it is still dominating the market. Unless a new technology comes along to disrupt it. Now that they also have WhatsApp under their control, it is really had to get them off the game. But anything can happen!

I have a personal/public Facebook, a professional Facebook page and I run a business Facebook page for my political nonprofit organization. That said, and to be completely honest, I was never a huge fan of Facebook. I only ever really use/d it occasionally and didn't even set up my Facebook account until like 2013 when it became a necessary evil since it seemed to be the best way to stay easily assessable and connected to loved ones, friends and families. I never found it entertaining and more annoying than anything. I feel the same about Instagram though so yeah. I am much more active on Twitter than I have ever been on Facebook. So all that said, I'm not surprised that people are moving away from the platform after all it really hasn't innovated enough. Everything is surface level and again the platform is pretty boring.
