Think the US will ever fully legalize cannabis?

Cannabis has been legalized in some states, either it be for medicinal use, or recreational for some lucky ones. But there are still many states where it's still illegal to smoke cannabis or ingest it in any way. So far Colorado, Michigan and other states are making tons of cash from the dispensaries that have sprung up since. I'm all for legalization. I feel cannabis is one of the safest drugs you can take. I prefer it over drinking honestly.

Anyway, has your state legalized cannabis? If not, what's the laws for it where you live?

I am on the fence with this one. I feel like because alcohol and smoking are legal, weed should be but at the same time, I think the short and long-term effects for people who smoke all the time are often dismissed. I feel like if they were to make it legal, it would be about money and taking advantage of these side effects. It makes people lazy, passive, and unmotivated. This is the case if you smoke a lot. I am not against people who smoke, you do your thing but you have to realize that this can easily be used against you. I only smoked twice in my life and it wasn't for me.

We have medical marijuana here but that's it. I know it was kind of tense at first but I'm starting to see some advertising for dispensaries pop up here and there. It really should just be legal everywhere but I think we're still a while from that happening.
I agree. It's going to be a while yet, and we probably won't get every state legalized. I know states like Texas probably won't ever legalize it, but I think we're pretty close to legalizing it everywhere.

If weed harms Black people and keeps us in a state of ignorance, yes, all of the bills will pass

I'll have to check this out later.

Of course it's about money. Cannabis is a billion dollar industry. Each state that legalizes it will get a benefit from it. Same as alcohol and cigs as I believe those are all taxed and such like cannabis has become.

I find I have an easier time working after smoking. I will sometimes wake and bake and get to work. And honestly, my day feels pretty good. I get home, smoke again and eat dinner and so on. But, there are people out there who smoke way too much, like every hour or two. My cousin for example, who's in a wheelchair from past health issues, smokes pot on the daily. He's also a heavy drinker. I don't know how he is able to smoke so much. I get tired of smoking when I get around him, no joke, the dude can smoke me under a table if he wants to. But somehow he functions in society. But I can see many just being stuck in that situation.

Yup. They tax the crap out of them and then they act like they are taking the higher road by saying how bad both are for our bodies. Like sure, you really care about that. Both industries are probably in bed with the medical industry that makes mad bank on people getting sick from both.

I have heard that. I know for some people, it can and often is helpful but all too often, for every sensible user, you have 10 who abuse it. Like if you have a deadbeat dad who would rather get high with his friends than take care of his kids, that is a problem. Or if you have a stoner mom who forgets to take care of something for her children. Alcohol can do the same thing though.

If you can hold down responsibility and accountability, by all means, enjoy the weed but people who can't are often the ones targeted and will be targeted when it becomes fully legalized. Just like alcohol companies target people they know will drink in excess and fast food joints targeting people they know will keep buying their low-quality unhealthy food. They want people who get hooked on the stuff, not just people who enjoy it now and then.
