You ever get knock-off or cheap tech that ends up being good?

I have used a lot of cheaper items that turned out to be decent. USB sticks and gadgets, chargers and wires, and things of that nature. I feel like for certain things, you can get away with going cheap but in many cases, you do get what you pay for. Have you ever got something tech-related that was cheap, knock-off, etc. that ended up being solid?

Oh for sure. I used to use a site called dealextreme. It still exists, but it's kinda like wish, but more for discounts. Also I think you can do wholesale purchases. A lot of the stuff on there is cheap junk, but back when I used it, they used to sell some good cheap gaming headsets, especially Xbox 360 headsets that were pretty pricey in the US, but on there they had knock-offs that looked like the real thing.

But, the sound quality turned out to be better than I expected. I could yell from another room, and they would still be able to hear me. All my Xbox 360 mics before it, started to go fast and would often get worse, to where I could barely hear people and they could barely hear me. But the cheap knock-offs sounded better as I could hear the voice chat easier. Plus, they could hear me better as well.

I haven't used the site much in years, but they have a lot of stuff. Most of it knockoff junk, but you may find some hidden gems among the mix.

You actually reminded me of a headset I got years back for the 360. It had no brand and was only like $12 but that thing was better than the headset I had paid $40 for that broke after 2 months. I also got some knock-off controllers that ended up being decent. Not as good as the brand label but still much better than I expected and for like only 30% of the cost.
