Senator Kyrsten Sinema’s refusal to accept corporate, individual or capital gains tax rate increases has led Democrats to consider proposals once championed by the party’s most liberal flank.

I have put in quotes for the TL;DR folks.

    What they "want" to do:
Democrats had hoped to pay for much of their social policy and climate spending with by raising low capital gains tax rates for those earning at least $400,000, lifting the top personal income tax rate back to 39.6 percent from the 37 percent level that President Donald Trump secured in 2017, and increasing the corporate income tax rate from 22 percent to 25 percent or 26 percent. That corporate rate would still be far less than the 35 percent rate that Mr. Trump slashed, while the top personal rate would be back to where it was for most of the past 25 years.

What they are saying is in the way:
But in the 50-50 Senate where all Republicans are opposed, they cannot afford to lose even one Democratic vote on the legislation, giving Ms. Sinema effective veto power over its contents.

This is a game they play where they put all these road blocks in place to justify not doing anything for the people. One minute it's the Republicans, then it's not having enough seats in Congress, and next it's a lone ranger Democrat holding everything up. We saw Nancy Pelosi get straight gangster on AOC and made her change her vote but that's not going down here? They gonna use this as justification to either gut the bill or make the average person pay for it.

    It's smoke and mirrors Joe.

More dog and pony show to keep the masses on the hamster wheel. Democrats are the masters of excuses:

    • We would have passed reparations but we didn’t have the presidency. (We vote in the pres)
    • We have the presidency but we couldn’t pass it because we didn’t have the senate. (We vote them into senate)
    • We have the house, senate, and presidency but this one rogue democrat is stopping us.
