It’s a classic debate but what’s so sad about it is that we are still having the same conversation today.
The Malcolm X position is most closely represented by pan-Africansm
The Rustin position has diffused into multiple different subgroups.
You have your democrat loyalists who are no different than Rustin.
You have your off-shoots who still want integration but with a nationalistic/ideological twist which is ADOS/FBA.
You have your feminist version of the Rustin position who have been elevated with the dem party.

Yes he was working with the CIA from what I’ve read. He did work in the Dominican Republic for the CIA I believe after he finish misdirecting the Civil Rights Movement towards integration rather than towards self sufficiency.
I was just listening to this... Bayard Rustin was a CIA agent... I don't recall who outed him...
It was a freedom of information act dump that had his name in it from what I recall.
