Not just watering down but outright lies about black history will be the norm with any schools controlled by the far right. We should expect this to get more normalized as things such as reparations becomes more a reality. It's what they do when they are triggered.
How your history is told is also about your political/social power. You would never, ever see any stories about 'How the Holocaust benefited Jews', its a non starter. Even though you could make a tangential argument that the global support for the state of Israel after WW2 is directly tied to sympathy from what happened in WW2.
