It was the year of the demonstrations in Birmingham, Alabama. Four young girls were killed in the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing and Medgar Evers was assassinated in his driveway. Also in 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his I Have a Dream speech in Washington D.C. Then on Nov. 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.
“This was what was happening in America, one had to decide which side to be on.

How is 2023 stacking up? 60 years later. Do you think we are worse off now when it comes to racism or was 1963 worse in every way? What do you think the Republican Party is trying to accomplish, since they are seemingly pushing a 1963 narrative of this land is our land. Land of the Confederate Americans?

nothing's changed. and honestly, i believe too many black people are concerned about the republican party (which i don't blame them) but i think the democratic party is a greater threat to black people.

The democrats are the problem? Not the rampant crime and cultural dysfunction the plagues black America ....... This is unreal and shows serious signs of cognitive dissonance. It's always someone else's fault.

There is never any accountability. The fact that you tried to blame democrats when black culture promotes geniuses like this

Black America needs a serious reset and complete overhaul. The fact that you typed that with a straight face want people to believe that nonsense shows why black America is regressing to irrelevance.

The Opening Post is talking about politics and racism. I think a big problem we have is people not actually reading, just reading enough to respond based on emotions. Let's try to stay on topic. We all know "GloRilla" and the like are not good for the community, but that's not the focus here.

"Black People " don't promote acts like Glorilla the industry does that.... she along with others are modern day minstrels. Let's be at least truthful about the generalizing if we're going to use it. As for these political parties if you don't know they're two wings of the same bird by now I don't know what else to tell you......support either one at your own peril.

Yep. They have people sprinkled around that promote this stuff to make it seem as if Black folks are doing it.

It is. I would much rather for a racist to tell me to my face that he hates me so I can know where he stands at than to have a racist hide his views and screw me over secretly.

The status quo has not changed which is what the powers that be want. They win. We lose.
