I saw these statements as I was browsing the internet earlier today:

"#NoTangiblesNoVote gang doesn't really have a definition of "tangibles" that connects to anything specific--or realistic.
They expect someone who they openly dislike to kiss their ass by withholding their vote--something they don't need to get elected, so they have no bargaining chips--a proposition I'm still completely baffled about."

"The plan is to wait another 4 years (asassuming Trump doesn’t do anything to hurt Black people) to pressure Democrats to come hat-in-hand to appeal to Black people to get what they want.
If Democrats don’t come to lick the boots of Black voters, then Black voters are willing to wait another 4 year term.
This will continue into infinity."

Non-voting Sixers, without deflecting, moving goalposts, or avoiding the question, can you name one group that has adopted your strategy (specifically by NOT voting) and actually succeeded?

I'm legitimately asking because I don't see any benefit to Black Americans if we withdraw from the political process, when EVERYTHING in America runs on politics. The YouTube "Don't Vote" campain seems like a paid program by our enemies designed to weaken us.

what benefits do we get from voting?
This is exactly why I said
"without deflecting, moving goalposts, or avoiding the question, can you name one group that has adopted your strategy (specifically by NOT voting) and actually succeeded?"
I'm not looking for more questions, I want to know why not voting should be an option that we consider. Do you have answers for that?

But what have we got from voting...EVER?
I've gotten a better comptroller, more Black people on the school board, a district supervisor who stopped the county from redistricting my local area and sending all of the state funds to the whiter schools. I can keep going, but I'd rather stay on topic and get an answer to my original question.

I didn't realize you were talking about local elections....yes! Those are the most direct ways to affect change in our direction. I thought you were talking on a Federal level. The Trump and Biden talk threw me off. I agree with you. It's foolish to completely drop out of local politics. You see what's happened in L.A. No representation and Black folks there are doomed

I'm talking about ANY elections. When the YouTubers tell my people not to vote, they don't specify which elections to abstain from, so their gullible followers abstain from all elections so they can "punish the Democrats until they deliver some tangibles". That's not how politics work, and that's not how you gain power (then again, the people paying the YouTubers don't want us to gain power). As such, I want to know how that plan is supposed to benefit Black people, I don't see any logical outcome where we gain by surrendering our political power.

who specifically is saying this? I don't spend a lot of time on youtube. Outside of Jason Black and Professor Black Truth, I'm not paying much attention to anyone else's channel like that. We don't have much a of choice on the national level. Trump supports zionism, Biden is compromised, Cornel is compromised, RFK is compromised, and everyone else is anti-Black. THere are no pro-black candidates

Everybody is flawed or compromised. They're human. Your boss at your job is compromised, your dentist is compromised. Everybody on the planet is compromised. Welcome to the real world. If you're waiting for the perfect, unstained candidate to descend from Heaven and become the American messiah, then you're going to be waiting forever.
However, if you are willing to be realistic, you can find something about each of the four candidates that you named that is a viable selling point:
-Donald Trump is a nationalist who will increase military spending.
-Joe Biden will keep national healthcare and public aid in the federal budget.
-Cornel West would increase federal aid and benefits to low income Americans.
-RFK Jr. has said that he is in favor of a form of reparations.

Each of those candidates also have their flaws. So what? You can still get something to benefit your community/state/country from each of them. Choose who aligns with your wants & values, and vote for that candidate.
If you don't like any of those candidates, then write in somebody you do like. In either case, stop giving away your power just because some weirdo with a webcam told you to.

Black political contrarian voices who keep saying “look at asians and Indians who don’t vote!” as a plan for how to achieve black political goals. Except, this isn’t true. These groups not only engage in politics, they are increasing their influence and participation in politics and they’re not nihilistic about it either. They are quite sophisticated as well.

No other group actually withdraws. They double down. They celebrate minor victories. They file lawsuits. They fund lobbyists to support their issues. They pursue and persuade and campaign and contact politicians. They promote and select politicians they want. THEY GET INVOLVED!

They DO NOT withdraw from the system, they do not withhold voting, they do not sit on their hands and act passively. They are offensively strategic and assertive in what they want and put forth a positive case for politicians they want.

I posted tweets above to show that no other ethnic group has paid agents on YouTube or anywhere else telling them to not use their political power.
TPTB are ONLY trying to stop the Black vote. You need to ask yourself why that is. If the YouTubers were REALLY about Black power, then they'd be yelling for Black brothers & sisters to get to the polls.
Let me give you something else to consider. We've withheld our votes from Republicans for decades. If that bullshit "Don't Vote" strategy works, then why aren't the Republicans bending over backwards for us and offering us tangibles to try and win our vote back?

Black people aren’t crazy. The talking point is scaring the begeezus out of Dem leadership tho! Not enough for them to share their true feelings regarding the political threats. Joe Biden is moving shady by not publicly recognizing reparationists and continues to utilize his super house negroes like Rep Clyburn of S.C.

Now that Asians & Latinos have larger voting blocs than us, Black people staying at home doesn't scare anybody. We've been replaced, and now we're being politically neutered.
For the sake of the conversation though, let me repeat my last post: We've withheld our votes from Republicans for decades. If that bullshit "Don't Vote" strategy works, then why aren't the Republicans bending over backwards for us and offering us tangibles to try and win our vote back?
If withholding our votes is supposed to "punish the Democrats", then why hasn't that strategy worked against the Republicans? After all these years of Black folks "punishing" them by not voting red, then why hasn't the GOP cut our reparations checks yet?

That's a great question., seemingly and also data-wise, they have enough white votes. Democrats need a rainbow coalition to win and most of the time, historically, Democrats do win the presidency. With that said Republicans still come up by controlling a powerful branch of legislation.

This is why I like talking to candidates like yourself. You remember that there are THREE branches of the Federal Government. Everybody screaming "Biden, Biden, Biden" seems to forget that there's a Republican SCOTUS, and a Republican House.
Do Democrats usually win the Presidency, though? Since Dec. 31, 1979, we've had
    Jimmy Carter (D)
Ronald Racist, I mean Reagan (R)
    Ronald Reagan (R)
    George Bush (R)
    Bill Clinton (D)
    Bill Clinton (D)
    George W. Bush (R)
    George W. Bush (R)
    Barack Obama (D)
    Barack Obama (D)
    Donald Trump (R)
    Joe Biden (D)

Six & six going back 5 decades. That looks like an equal number to me, and I don't see where Dems have won the Presidency more. But that begs my question. Since we withheld our votes from Republicans all five of those decades, why haven't they offered us something so that they could've had absolute control of the Presidency for half a century? I'm sure Republicans would've loved to hold the White House all of those years that we were "punishing" them. Why didn't the "No Vote" method work anytime in the past?
I'm still waiting for somebody to give me a logical reason why giving up our political power is a good idea.
