You see this? They set a record for online shopping this past Black Friday online. There are predictions that Cyber Monday will pull in $9.4 billion. This is worldwide sales mind you but damn. Like I thought people were meant to be watching their spending. lol I do all my shopping prior to these events so I seldom shop unless it is something I need or want for myself.

Shopping is an easy way to forget the fact that you're on the titanic and sinking.

I guess people are just distracting themselves then. Like I get it, the economy is heading south and there isn't much we can do but I would think more people would have the common sense to at least use their money to invest or something. Find a way to at least try to counteract the inflation that is only getting worse.

We don't celebrate twisted, European holidays at our house.
My strategy is to take the money saved from not being allowed into places without the vx passport, and money saved from not being involved in holiday shopping, and put it into cryptocurrencies, and junk silver coins.

Seems like it, that is for sure. I think because people became more accustomed to shopping online during 2020, it only further pushed the numbers for this year. Like Amazon alone doubled their value in 2020, I can bet a lot of online shopping was done over there for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Yeah probably so. It's so much easier to overspend when you're shopping online too.

For sure. I am guilty of this myself. I have boughten things without realizing what I was spending cause I was not in a budget mindset. I think people who are newer to shopping online fall for this and spend way too much. I try to focus on shopping around and finding the best deals while also writing down every purchase I make online in my planner.
