Many West African people do not see a difference between a Black American and a White American and that’s a shame. They see both as White or American. You are totally foreign to them…your skin color does not serve as a commonality between you two in their eyes.

Also, some Africans did look down on West Indians for a perceived lack of education i.e. degrees and PhD. Some West Indians, that were involved in illegal activity (some of it true, some of it dangerously exaggerated by white people), bought trouble to our areas. Africans were the most vocal about not bringing trouble to our areas.
They ARE the weakest link! They bear an inherent antipathy for all non indigenous black Africans borne out of misplaced resentment. The only group to confront and challenge white establishment when racially targeted -eg, Brixton riots, Windrush scandal, Mark Duggan. Africans NEVER express allegiance and are THE most servile and vociferous in defending whites -they take pride in the legacy of their anti black subjugators. I recall, as a teenager oblivious to their diasporian race hate, an African feeling immensely superior in repeatedly calling me 'slave' with the utmost contempt as though I should be offended by it in a trivial verbal altercation. Had I been as knowledgeable about black history as I am today I would have shamed him into the fact that his ancestors sold my ancestors into slavery for shit trinkets and copper pots.
