If it is a "sun" then it can only be used to see at night.
We can do that with regular lights.
The Sun is so much more. The photons of the different bands of the sun's radiation powers photosythesis, it powers my arrival in Africa every year (The Harmattan) it even determines, to a lesser degree, the tides of our seas and oceans.
So what if China can make a really big light.

I always wonder why other animals are so connected to the earth while we humans are not. They sense Earthquakes, Volcanos, and all other types of phenomena before we even recognize it. We as a species have got something terribly wrong. I want to earn my freedom so I can return to a simpler lifestyle at leisure.We are NOW talking about something! I was really thinking the same thing. People's circadian rhythms will be all over the place. I believe the animals will still know the time of day regardless, but people are not as connected. For now, it's only going to effect China, but I will give it 2-5 years to make it fully an American fad.

Not everything is external. I think we have to be objective. Some dysfunctions we had internally there’s a chance we could have lost our way long before other races cohabited or conquered us.I believe we used to be, but somehow been disconnected. Forreal, I think the introduction of other races is what caused to disconnect. Lower vibrational beings fukking off the planet on every level! There can be no way that we are the most complex built species with little to no connection to this planet. Inexplicable!!
