My $0.02 is that Cosby believes that we are the cause of our own ills which is why we appear to see two divergent ideologies. On one hand he is dissing our names and on the next hand he is talking about self-sufficiency, neither are incongruent with the stance that we are our own issue. You see, we factor in White Supremacy which colors our perception, I personally do not think Bill does. So we look at him as playing into white supremacist stereotypes while he looks at it as diagnosing Black societies ills. But that sincere desire is filtered through a coon screen that turns “I want to see us rise” to “stop with names like LaPorscha”.
