In order to be fully accepted by white boys on the right (aka open white supremacy) you must prove you are anti black people. The Republican party is a white male party. If you are not white male, whatever group you come from you must shyt on them to prove your paperwork.
In the 2016 Republican primary, Carly Fiorina was the only one talking about banning abortions in all forms. She had to shyt on women's issues to be accepted. If you are Latino you have to be anti illegal immigration more than anyone else. If you are black, well, you already know.
All this guy is doing is sending signals loud and clear he's team white supremacy by saying something he and white people know the majority of blacks will be angry about. That's his paperwork for white folks. Candace, Larry Elder, all had to do the same and keep doing it. If you stop, they look at your with an eye brow raised. Tim Scott is a true believer Republican. He didn't do enough anti black stuff, he wasn't a fan of Trump and he's seen as suspect to white boys but a coon to us. He's caught in the middle.
Black republicans like this guy left the black community ages ago. We really don't have any punishment for him because he doesn't rely on the black masses for anything. He's completely reliant on white conservatives. And has to have been that way for a while. The only real punishment we have is not backing him when he gets his wake up call.
They will find some use for him. He is running to get his name out there. If he's a Trump ass kisser, he may get an administration job out of it or just get name recognition to run for something like Senator or Congressman. The only real weapon we have to is ignore him and laugh at him and dismiss him. White boys don't like black tools that can't trigger the black community. Candace Owens triggered for a while now she's just pretty much dismissed. I've only really heard white liberals talk about her on youtube, etc. Maybe your feed is different than mine but I've not seen any black youtuber involved in politics talk about her. Roland doesn't, the black empowerment influencers don't except as an anecdote to something else. Trust me she knows this. She say wilder and wilder shyt till she does. Catch 22.
But black Republicans like this want to get in a big public argument with a black person so they can coon it up.
