Looks like the end times may be arriving. Nah just kidding, but if this story is true, we may actually be able to see the Asteroid come close to earth. I don't think we have to worry about it, as it should pass without issue, but if it were to hit earth, it would hit at 17,000 mph, as currently that's what it's going at. Not sure how much damage that would do if it hit earth, but I imagine it wouldn't be great.

You can read more about this story below:

Boeing 737-Sized Asteroid To Pass As Close to Earth As the Moon

On August 16, a 100-foot asteroid will fly past the Earth at a distance just larger than the Moon's orbit.
www.newsweek.com

Also, had to bring this up, but they mention in the article as well, that we should be safe from impact, as there is no known asteroid that poses a threat to earth for the next 100 years. Which means, 100 years from now, it could be a different story.

We have these pass close by all the time, so they say. I mean I can't tell you how many stories I have heard like these over the years. There was that story about the one that passed by so close, it turned the sea red from the dust particles that entered our atmosphere. I can't remember the full story (it was never proven factual) but they tied it to the "red sea" in the bible days.

Non-Stop. Boeing needs to do something about things the size of their planes crashing into things.
