I wish my grand uncle was alive for this. Born in Tulsa, parents survived the massacre, 1/4 Cherokee, I think his grandparents were enslaved by them as well. Moved in to LA in the '50s after the Korean war. Pro Black like a motha effa, taught me a lot. He' have loved it with all the BS he had deal with in LA and Inglewood.
The thing that irritates me enormously about this reparations process is that it wasn't as robust or protracted when other groups demanded reparations and they didn't even have legitimate claims - they were NOT the most aggrieved group! We let them play these games with us but at some point it has to stop. We need to stop coon representation being used as the default strategy which, euphemistically, is WS giving us the middle finger.
