In terms of general lifestyles (excluding politics, religion, etc) what kind of area do you prefer when it comes to living - in the city, in the suburb, or in the country?

I never cared for city life. I have lived in a city for half my life and moved away. I prefer it in the suburb. It is a mix of the best of both worlds in my opinion. I don't know if I would be entirely happy living the country life but I know I am not happy living in a city. I am just curious to see what you all have preferences for.

I love the city but the older I get the more I want to be in the country. Not doing country stuff but living on a large plot of land with nice sized house.
My goal though is to live by the beach, I'd rather be close to the beach than in the country though.

This is how I feel as well. We have 80 acres with two lakes in Mississippi that we are going to start building on next summer. I can't...I'll eventually retire down there. I'm tired of the hustle and bustle and would like to have acres, trees, land, be able to ride dirt bikes and ATVs right out the driveway...all that stuff.

I'm with you on this sis but what I love about the City is having quick access to everything. I live in a city center right now and I have bars, stores and etc a walk away. My family is from Alabama and I love going out into the backyard and seeing wilderness maybe one day when my kids are grown I'll move out that way.

I am shocked but happy to see so many people saying they'd rather not live in the city. I feel that. The older you get, the further away from the noise and mess of things you want to be. I hope one day we all each own a few acres of land.

Suburb. It’s quiet, but not too quiet. I’d love to live in the city for a few years tho, just for the social benefits.

I dont feel the suburbs with home owners associations and so forth. Cant have a lake front in the city. I love this country ish.They got barns attached to mansions in some areas.Then its a 20 minute drive to downtown.
