I thought it was looked down upon. Like unprofessional.
The Atari 810 was the first floppy disk drive for the Atari 8-bit family home computers, released in 1980. It used a single-density storage system that provided 90 kB of storage. The Atari 815 used a double-density 180 kB format and housed two drives in one case; it was announced at the same time but not put into full production. The 810 was the standard disk drive for the platform through its early years.
