I‘m torn on the cremation vs burial topic. I feel like cremation is the most economical option but it’s the least ceremonial so I would ask my family to cremate me but im sure theyll end up burying me.So my brother and I just sat down with an Insurance agent for our dad.
My dad wants cremation and during the meeting the agent mentioned that the white funeral homes are lowering their prices to steal the business.
That they will setup shop right in the hood . And they only charge $500 or $600. They know that alot of black communities have families that don't have anything setup when someone passes.
Also it came up that alot of the black funeral homes don't have a crematorium. So they have to use the white funeral homes.
Not sure if this the case all over the US. But it wouldn't surprise me. It was a real enlightening conversation.
More and more people are moving towards cremation and so the funeral homes are most likely going to start charging more.

I totally get it. I at first was against it too. But my dad and I kept talking about it. And he showed me how you can still have a nice service. YouTube really has everything lol and I was able to see how people did differnt cremation services. Even "renting" a casket for the service. Make everybody else think it's a burial. I've WHOLE LIFE & TERM LIFE insurance. Going to insure my adult children & grandchildren soon. Just because you're young, doesn't mean you shouldn't cover yourself. WHOLE LIFE is the best. TERM LIFE has stipulations & even if you want to cancel, you get no refund.I couldn't find the thread that already talked about this, but how many of ya'll got life insurance policies? When they were ready for college, they totally had what they needed. My youngest grandson Pearson, is nearly 9 months old & he's been covered since day one.
