I don't know if anyone noticed this in their area or not but I work for a clinic and I have to tell you, there are not many black doctors around here. We have one in the entire clinic I work at and this is amongst something like 20 doctors or something. Like I have nothing against doctors of different race, color, whatever if you do the job right but I feel like for a lot of people, it would be more comforting talking about certain issues with someone who is more like you. Am I wrong in this thinking? I actually got called a racist by someone online for saying this. Black Americans have different health issues and concerns that often get overshadowed because a lot of doctors are Asian or white and don't really understand the differences in genetics. I think this leads to black people, especially women, being underdiagnosed with medical issues until it is far too late.
