I have yet to purchase a device that allows me to use Alexa (Echo Dot) or something like Google's Home, where you can have a little device around to ask questions, or even be a smart home hub of sorts to help you control lights, and other such things around the house.
The only things I really like about them, is the idea that you can ask it most questions and get an answer and maybe to turn off some lights around the house. That's about it.
But the downsides of these devices is whether they track you, collect data on you, record you and more. If they didn't collect so much on you, I would buy one myself, but I fear that everything you say is collected and shared. Much like with your phone, tablet, pc, or whatever. It is all used to advertise to you anyway.
Anyway, do you guys use any of these devices in the home? Are you okay with the idea of them possibly recording you or sharing info with advertisers and all that?
