I noticed over the last 6 months or so, all the Amazon drivers who have dropped off packages have been black ladies. I don't even see men anymore. It used to be a mix of black and white men but now it is all black women. I am wondering how Amazon treats its drivers.

Think about how you treat Siri, Alexa, Google Assistant. You ask them something and you expect an instant, perfectly accurate, perfectly relevant response every single time or you‘re pissed off. Don’t have to tell it something twice or you’re ready to throw your phone at the wall.

Amazon‘s executives look at the Employees how we look at virtual assistants. When something needs to be done, it needs to be done NOW and perfectly accurate or your ass is gone. To make this a reality the executives have built out a software orchestration layers that manage the human robots to productivity bliss.

If the KPIs are so aggressive that the human robots cannot take pee breaks the answer is…”ooooh it was a glitch”. When really they needed to hit a metric to show some higher up or the shareholders.

Amazon is a shitty company and the future all employers want for us. If uniformity is not important they’ll use the Gig Economy/Uber Model. If Uniformity is key then they’ll use the Amazon AI-Managed Sweat Shop model.
