Antoine Fuqua has a new movie called Emancipation, which is based on a true story of an escaped slave, who is known for being a subject of many photographs showing the abuse he received as a slave. It's coming to Apple TV and stars Will Smith in the lead role. Check the trailer out below.

Emancipation - New Antoine Fuqua movie
I watched it last night, and it was much better than I thought it would be.
First off, from a technical standpoint, Antoine Fuqua's cinematography was incredible. Emancipation was shot beautifully, and the use of color in the film was dope.
Secondly, to my surprise, this wasn't just another slave/Black trauma porn movie. Even though Will Smith played a runaway slave, Emancipation felt more like a mix of Behind Enemy Lines, Rambo, and various war movies.
Best of all, there was no white savior!
