you know, I find this lowkey funny, because I've been watching people arguing back and forth for the past month about who created hip-hop. After supposedly checking Fat Joe, BET came through and hired this guy to be the host. wow. lol.
But like I said on the Lunch Break, if we OWNED the art we created, this wouldn't happen. And we know who owns BET. Best believe they did this on purpose.

Viacom is pushing the narrative that Black Americans didn’t create Hip Hop. Same thing that was done with Rock, House, Techno and other genres. We are being written out of history.

Last I checked, BET stood for something else. This company is just another one selling out. They are willing to have someone like Fat Joe host these awards. Just puts a bad taste in my mouth. Glad I stopped watching this network years ago.

Pretty much... MTV was too white but these people thought BET wasn't white enough so they started pushing their way in. I can bet you most people at this network behind the scenes who run things and approve things are now white men.
