I wanted to come back to this. My boyfriend ended up getting the game. I watched him play a bit last night (played a bit myself) and I am beginning to think the bad reviews are mostly just WS morons online. The game is not some kind of masterpiece by any means and has a slow start but it is not that bad. The fighting and crafting systems in the game are great. It is like an open world Final Fantasy. The devs clearly took shortcuts which hindered the game but I fully expected it to be a crap shoot and it really isn't. I think it is a solid 7/10 from what I have seen/played of it thus far.
