What's that thing on the neck of the guitar? Does it make the guitar's pitch change? I'm thinking about learning to play one day. I just want to play classical guitar nothing fancy.

It’s called a Capo or Guitar Clamp and it shortens the string length and raises the pitch. What's that thing on the neck of the guitar? Does it make the guitar's pitch change? I'm thinking about learning to play one day. I just want to play classical guitar nothing fancy.

It may actually make it harder for her. The clamps make it so much easier especially since the frets up the neck are closer together.Thanks.
It looks like it's in the way and that she should remove it to get a real groove in the music.
I'm going to start with a bass so, for the moment, I don't think I have to worry about using that, right? It may actually make it harder for her. The clamps make it so much easier especially since the frets up the neck are closer together.
Nah you won’t need one. I’m learning bass and don’t think of why we would need one. We don’t play chords we play single notes and usually play the root note of the chord the guitars play.I'm going to start with a bass so, for the moment, I don't think I have to worry about using that, right?
