How long do you think the chip shortage will last?

I saw something about Sony making PS4 consoles again to sell because they don't have access to the chips or other components to build more PS5s. I thought that it was fake but it seems to be legit. They are doing this. I don't know who would want to buy a PS4 in 2022 though. At least not new. I look at prices for PC parts and they still seem to be inflated, especially when it comes to CPUs/GPUs, obviously.

How long do you think this is going to last?

I don't know... I don't care. As long as I can still get an Intel or AMD cpu, I'm good. I've only owned the first generation of Playstation, before I got into PCs. Haven't touched a console since the day I built my first PC almost 20 years ago.
I get it that kids and teens would have them I just never understood grown people 25 and over having an Xbox or Playstation.. Just weird to me. I'm not knocking anyone over 25 with one, I just don't get it.

Whenever we have a non-diversified supply chain of essential building materials, you can expect more and more things like this.
I remember the market was hurting after the flood in Thailand and we didn't fully recover for two years (The article is very optimistic):

I say that we should brace for two years of crazy prices and general unavailability for a year, maybe two.

Oh yeah, I forgot about this. There is something about China going after Taiwan now and Russia after Ukraine. This is going to make for a hell of a mess I bet. I wish this country would grow some balls and start using and working with our own materials instead of outsourcing. I don't know enough about the world market but I do know a lot of these damn jobs should have never left the US.

White corporations would hire anyone but us. I believe that is the true motive for outsourcing.

    My 2¢

You are probably right. I mean think of all the money they save by hiring outside the country. Almost all big corps do this at this point. They want cheap labor so they can hoard more money. They do little with it as well which doesn't benefit our economy.
