I see it all the time. Couples get comfy with each other and they put on weight. Sometimes it is both, sometimes it is only one. In cases where it is only one, how would you handle it if your partner put on weight? Would you care/would it bother you? If so - How would you approach letting them know?

I lucked out I suppose, when I met my wife over 22 years ago she was 125, as of right now she's about 132-133 , I gained a few myself, nothing crazy but I think over time and the older you get you either don't really notice or it's not a big deal.
now if she was 40-50 pounds overweight, I'd say something.

I like the honest approach for sure. I feel like I wouldn't have any issues if it was under 30 pounds. On the right frame with some height, could probably go up to 50. Men tend to be able to carry more weight without it showing as much as women. I think this is down to how it is gained though. If a woman gains 20 pounds all over, it doesn't look as bad as gaining 20 in the belly.
