So I started opening my windows cause it has been nice lately. I had never seen either of my cats do this but I guess a fly got in one of the small holes in one of the screens. Dude was running through the house chatting up a storm and he finally caught the dang thing and ATE IT! I don't know if this is okay though. Will he get sick from this? Do I have to worry? I had no idea cats ate bugs!! I have not had them long enough to ever notice I guess. I called my friend freaking out, the one that gave me the cats but she is at work.

Circle of life I wouldn't panic dogs and cats are animals they eat stuff we wouldn't think once about eating......imagine being horrified because your dog tried to eat his own poop! It happens but apparently lots of dogs do this especially when they're hungry it's not recommended to let them do this regularly but it happens.

One of my siblings owns a cat. When the cat sees a bug, she goes on the attack and regularly catches it to munch on. It won't make the cat ill. It's quite harmless.

I can appreciate if it was something you hadn't seen before or wasn't aware of previously it may be worrying. Cats have a lot of unusual behaviour but you'll become accustomed to it. Cat quirks and behaviour can be both weird and hilarious.

I don't like it when cats eat bugs, but I don't care about what happens to cats. I'm a dog lover.

It is definitely weird and hilarious. I have seen it with my own eyes.

Yuck. I have seen it. Dogs go around in circles chasing their tail too which is funny.

I didn't see cats eat bugs when I was younger. I guess it is because I was not paying as much attention as I should have.

Cat's eat mice don't they so why not bugs they eat any insect they can chase and kill .

I don't have to worry about him getting parasites? Now I am worrying about that. I talked to my friend and said it isn't a big deal so long as the bug was not poisoned with something. I don't use those chemicals in place so I am not worried about that.
