Rest in power to pops! Yeah I saw someone post on Twitter about foundational black American car culture and I didn't even know we had a car culture as we have a bad habit of giving our stuff away. Heck I recently learned that south Korean chicken was created by foundational black Americans after the war! Check the movies, Hoodlum, The Temptations, The Five Stairsteps, etc. Our people have ALWAYS set the standard for everything. We built & worked on vehicles long before chop shops were ever invented. Guess who learned from us? EVERYONE!
Unfortunately, we NEVER keep it going. Then, some people like Cheech & Chong step in & copy, making it a Latino thing, but they're NOT the originators, WE ARE!
