Fully deserved, she is one of a whole lot of fully deserving queen mothers. But as you say its symbolism. The Biden administration has done a lot of symbolic things we didn't ask for so that he can say "I did this blah blah blah' for black folks. There was no grass roots push for Juneteenth. We'll take it but not as a replacement for tangibles (reparations for FBAs, black crime bill specifically, funding HBCUs, federal prosecution of race soldiers, and a whole lot of other stuff).
I am not aware of any grass roots campaign to get Maya Angelou on any money as well. I think there was something for Harriet Tubman but wasn't a huge shout.
This can't be in lieu of anything tangible obviously.
