Love is needed but romance is not. I am all for romantic gestures and getting surprises from my man but I value security, trust, and respect more than romance. I always felt real love was a choice and a commitment in and of itself. So long as both people are holding up their ends of the marriage and agree on major things, the marriage will last. You have to be able to grow with someone else though and I feel like a lot of people struggle with this these days.
