Hulu has a new Mike Tyson show just called Mike, and it's about his life, from the rise and fall I am assuming. I have yet to check it out, but from what I have seen it's getting mixed reviews.

I also hear that Mike Tyson had no part in the show and called Hulu out due to it, saying that they stole his life story and never paid him. I don't know if they have to pay a celebrity if they make a movie on them, as long as enough of it is in the public domain, and is public knowledge, I believe they can make a movie on them. I think a lot of studios get away with stuff like that, because look at the Steve Jobs movie, I guess his daughter didn't want them making a movie on him, but they did so anyway.

I don't think I'm going to watch it.

Yeah, that's how they maintain control of that industry and needs to change for black artists. If they ALL collaborated and pooled their resources and experience they could effect that change and relegate those hueless entertainment moguls.

I mean if this is legit, he can sue them and I hope he does. I heard a bit about it but knowing this is coming from theft, I can't co-sign and watch it. Not even if I pirate it. It just ain't right.

I hope Mike Tyson gets some sort of cut from this, because it's his life story. The least they could do is put aside a fund for him and give him a percentage of the earnings or something. Or idk, pay him something.

After reading the article, it sounds like he may have sold his rights to a movie/show years ago, and I guess they got those rights, idk. The sad truth, is that I don't think you need permission in some cases to produce content about someone. I imagine there are a lot of documentaries and movies about Tyson that came out of nowhere or straight to DVD even.
