I was named after my uncle by My Grandma.Nicholas Flournoy. My Great uncle Nick was a black nationalists.He was part of the Cherry Street Poets, Pittsburgh,Penn in the 1960-70s'. That might not be the name of the society.I think it is.I couldnt find much info about them because they were blacklisted. I said that to say B1.

Did you ever chase the family back farther?

This is my Great uncle. And truthfully I have been asking for decades of some of his works. I remember the stories my grandma told me about him. I havent been up to Pittsburgh since I was five. Recently I have been on the internet researching but I havent found out much. I tried to join a family facebook group and I was kicked out.

I'm a researcher doing work on Augsut Wislon and his time spent with the Centre Avenue Poets during the late 60s, specifically with Nicholas Flournoy, Chawley Williams, and Rob Penny. If anyone has information regarding this time period or Nicholas Flournoy's work, please let me know!

Do you know why they were blacklisted by chance and who blacklisted them? they were part of the 'centre avenue poets' (also called 'poets of the centre avenue tradition') from my knowledge / research!
