We have to be out children’s most influential teacher. We have to instill in them the lessons that we believe are beneficial to their survival. If you take the school’s word for it, we are nothing but a bunch of savages who didn’t know civilization until the Europeans came. Pure lies.

This is so true. When you learn we started education it's easy to see why them folks can't hold a young black man's attention. I used to hate how they would never explain things in simple terms. Now I know it's because their lies are complex. It's hard for them to keep it all together.

At this point with all the information available
as well as the advent of at home online learning we can teach our own children. We should all homeschool in mass. This is why the traditional family structure is so important. Mama is the first teacher and Daddy is the second. Even with the Father working he can reinforce the lessons taught by the mother as well as add his influence and experience. Not to mention all of the black conscious movies and doccumentaries.

I had a huge problem with this growing up as I got sick of hearing about Greece, Rome, and White people. It was non-stop WHITE WHITE WHITE. I teach my daughter that it's just a game and you must get through it.

Maybe an after school program for African/ Foundational Black American studies are in order perhaps as a sort of right of passage for our young people also teaching about self worth entrepreneurship credit as well as trades basically showing them how to survive in this system instead of simply working within and for this system. Each one teach 10.

That's an amazing idea!!! Very actionable. You would have to get parents permission but if you could use school facilities and just provide information as well as snacks for the kids you have a winner!!!

You are a wise Father. That's the best advice. At least then your children have a great paradigm to understand why they have to beat their competitors.

We are so in need of the Black Panther style after school and weekend classes they gave kids. Akala, a British rapper, who is an extremely eloquent speaker on black topics. (Wasn't he in 1804?) said he was taught black history and pride from local blacks who set up some sort of supplementary classes on the weekends.

We desperately need that in the hood where the worst schools are but also for the blacks in the mostly white schools. If you notice a lot of swirlers, Republicoons, will tell you how they went to school in mostly white areas (suburbs) and "didn't see racism". One of the worst things black parents did when they moved to these white areas is let their black kids think that racism ended. How many times have you heard these young black swirlers (sounding just like white girls) say they never grew up around blacks and never were part of the community?

They thought just being black was enough to give their kids some pride in being black. I have one friend whose daughter is heavily into K pop and only attracted to Asians, Korean American specifically. They live in a pretty much all white area. Love 'em to death but worried the kids will not have much black pride.

Although 2 of my nephews grew up in mostly white areas, the one thing I loved seeing once was a relative posting about having faith in Jesus and had one of those white Jesus and both saying 'Aunt, that's not how Jesus looked'. I was worried about them but they turned out fine in terms of their black pride.

If I had kids, there are a few things that will happen:

1. Boy or girl, my kid(s) will learn to code at at least 2 languages before they enter HS preferably but definitely before the graduate HS.
2. My kid(s) will take self defense classes, whatever discipline they can handle from ages 7 - 9 or 10. That white boy or girl will only bully my son or daughter once.
3. They will start learning chess as early as they can comprehend it.
4. We will take a trip to west Africa a couple times (likely Senegal and Ghana) before they graduate HS.
5. They will be constantly surrounded by black things in the home, books, movies, any black affirming things as well as hearing black affirming talk, and pride in themselves. If its a white area they will be in programs, teams with black kids.
6. They will learn to speak, read and write with a fair command of Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. Some Swahili.
7. Math tutors early, they will get a lot of math. A lot.
8. They will see their parents reading and have a family book club where they get something, money or gifts for finishing books and then we discuss it.

If I'm paid like that and I'm in a white area, home schooled till middle or high school. While being home schooled join team sports, with black kids.
