Whenever people hear "west coast" they automatically think of California, the other two major cities that share the pacific coastline is my city #PDX (Portland, Oregon) and Seattle in Washington. Portland is right next to the border of Washington, very close but very different at the same time.
My city is slowly turning into a place that isn't safe to live in, the drug addiction here is on a whole other level, the homeless problem is getting worse and black people are becoming so rare here, I feel isolated.
It's no coincidence when gentrification went into full swing about 35 years ago, the living conditions went to shit. A lot of people are what we call "transplants" not native to Portland, they moved here from another city that went to shit, now they are bringing their bullshit to my city.
It's sad to see, I really miss how beautiful Portland was...

People vote for criminals and wonder what happens as they continue to keep voting for criminals. People need to realize that who they vote for matters a lot more on a local level. These politicians will milk a city dry and get rich off them and then when they "retire" they jump ship to a zone that doesn't have these issues. I feel bad for the people stuck in Portland.
