My little sister moved to ATL a few years ago, was in Ohio before that, she really likes ATL she was shocked how nice everyone is and the neighborhood she found was pretty much all black. She's never expressed anything she didn't like about it. Although it could be because she just lucked up with her area, and she doesn't do the club thing.. so. She loves it though.
My cousin moved from NY to ATL and so I asked and he said this:
We’re able to afford a nice home in a great area here versus NY
We’re able to send our son to Montessori, (instead of daycare)
my wife and I both kept our salaries after moving to Georgia.
we bought a nice home in JC and have enough left over to purchase a long term rental property.
our quality of life has increased no less than 50% by moving to Atlanta. The best decision we ever made. There are definitely some interesting people watching opportunities here— but for the most part JC is incredibly diverse and friendly. I don’t quite understand some of the anti vaxers/maskers here in GA, but beyond that everything is great!
I was born in Atlanta and I've been to just about every part of GA lol It's a great city with a lot of culture. The traffic is a nightmare but you can get around that by not going downtown too much. As @Lamont said, you're in GA and you see the change quickly once you drive outside of Atlanta.

Yeah real talk it’s just like Texas. You be in some nice ass built out part that’s diverse and drive 30 mins in any direction and be in some straight up backwoods shit.
