I went to play this last night and I can't play online anymore cause they don't support Linux and their reasoning seems hella bogus to me. Talking about moving in the direction of the future. WTF they think the future is? It is OPENSOURCE.
This made me mad. I did really enjoy this game. I put a lot of hours into it. I took a break from it for a while and was in the mood and now I can't play it. I'd have to boot up Windows just to play it again. This is some bull. I noticed some other games doing this as well. I don't get why. They also cut ties with Mac. I guess this happened in 2020 at some point so it has been a while since I had played. I was too busy with work and family in 2020 so I didn't even know this happened. In 2021, I was playing other stuff when I had free time.
Is there a workaround for this by chance? Maybe running it through Lutris on a different launcher?
“As we continue to upgrade Rocket League with new technologies, it is no longer viable for us to maintain support for the macOS and Linux (SteamOS) platforms,” they write.
