I am serious. I do not for the life of me understand why people are spending hundreds if not thousands just to say they own something that is 100% digital. In the real world, this is completely pointless but people are out there collecting them like they are Pokemon cards or something. WTF is going on? LOL

I seriously don't understand it. I get out it works, using crypto to buy it and getting stuff minted but I don't understand the hype.

I skipped the video. I will have to watch it in full when I have time.

So NFTs are basically just another form of digital currency which is meant to be beneficial for artists and creators but is hurting most of them? I mean I still don't see the point in paying for something that doesn't exist offline.

To my understanding, it's just digital art. Not my cup of tea. And I have no plans of joining the metaverse to show off NFTs.
Even worse, it's non-exclusive digital art. The same stupid monkey pics that are being sold for real money can simply be right-clicked on. Who care's if the copy doesn't arrive with a certificate of authenticity? The "art" isn't tangible anyway!

Gujtpu0 (1).png See? I just used a Patrice O'Neal NFT as my smiley!

As far as I'm concerned, NFTs aren't worth the stress. Just look at it as something that's only going to have value in your possession. There's been a lot of media and publicity in support of it but it seems like it's taking a major negative hit because people are not jumping on it.

I just heard that Madonna is offering vagina NFTs and I about lost it. LOL That woman is crazy. Is it any wonder why the general public is not in support of them? I think it is down to nutcase celebrities and scammers, not the actual NFTs themselves.

Here recently it seems like more and more NFT artists are getting hacked and losing lots of their money. Perhaps that's what's causing the prices of NFTs to drop? They were certainly more popular last year since it was a new trend, literally almost everyone were getting into the NFT market. (Even Macy's did since they had an "exclusive NFT" announced during the Thanksgiving Parade last year! xD)

Non-fungible tokens NFT'S are a major trend nowadays and it is just a way to digitalize art using the blockchain technology. It's all quite complicated how people value their NFT'S but I wouldn't advice anyone going into it without a proper knowledge though.
I would rather invest my time and money in actual cryptocurrency and blockchain technology which have proven to be something reliable because as far the the project of NFT is concerned, it's a pure scam in disguise.

Absolutely correct with your explanation. Just like you said, I don't feel any desire to join the guys that are packing these NFTs. I've read some weird stuff about people losing a lot of money in these things and that is not how I want to spend my money.

I have no issue supporting artists through NFTs but it seems like they are everywhere right now and the art just isn't that great. I mean I have seen some cool ones but never cool enough to make me go "hey, I need to own digital rights to that!".

Someone explained NFTs to me like this:

Your wife is banging everyone and sleeping around town but it is okay cause you have the marriage certificate which states she is yours. The marriage certificate is the NFT and your wife is the piece up for sale that can be shared and saved freely all over online.

You can't call it scam , but some don't feel the digital arts or digital assets are actually worth investing in. Just like you buy and own physical art and properties, you still buy and own your Digital art.
