I've always said that these descriptions are dangerous. They are very vague. Even when slightly more descriptive it isn't much better. It'll be stuff like "average height black man with brown eyes" "Medium built black man wearing a red shirt" "Black approx. 5'10'' tall driving a unknown model sports car"
It's always so vague that it could literally be anyone. What's average height? To a racist cop that could mean anything. What's medium built. Same thing a racist cop that could be anything.
Even in the last example which is slightly better the cop is going to pull over the first black guy he see's in a even remotely sporty car. It can be a Honda.
The part that the cops hear is black. There was a situation where the cops were looking for 3 young black males and instead ended up detaining an elderly black couple. They didn't even close to fit the description. They cuffed the man tightly and even though the wife told them he had a fistula and they could damage it they disregarded her and messed up his fistula resulting in him having to get surgery to get it repaired. They tried to charge them with resisting arrest.
Yeah, that is very vague so this is going to cause any white folks to think any black man in the area is guilty. I get naming the color but if you don't go into more detail, you just help racists be racist.
