There are so many things going on right now that we take our focus off the coming days. Now since the summer is coming to a close and the fall is rolling in, we’ll be seeing empty shelves again in the grocery stores and a lack of other resources. We must look forward to positive things happening in our future, but all of us have to prepare for anything bad to come. What are you doing to prepare for the days ahead? What are some tips you have that can help your people? (Answer the best way you can and be free to converse with myself/others)

I’m asking these questions out of concern and I would like to get back on track with preparation. Ever since Covid started, I learned more about the importance of stocking up on food, water, and other essentials. The bad part is not having space for stuff (especially if you live in an apartment/condo). I remember in 2020/2021 we had canned food, water, paper towels all over the dinning room and some in the living room. Even though I live in a new apartment with more cabinet space and a bigger storage unit than the previous apartment, I am still overwhelmed with apartment space (I wish I could live in a house right now). But once my family and I reorganize, I believe we will have additional space for food, water, and other necessities soon.

Last week a family member gave us a furniture piece for the living room that has a storage unit built in. So we can put canned foods in it. Right now we have water in storage, but it’s not enough to last us for a year or more. I will have to take inventory this week so I can figure out how much water to get. My household primarily drinks Crystal Geyser natural spring water. We consume other natural spring/alkaline water too depending on some things. I can understand now that more people are starting to buy up water because of the water crisis nationwide. Not only are Black residents in Jackson, Mississippi going through their water issues, but certain zip codes in (majority Black) Baltimore city recently had e-coli detected in the water. I guess our people are seeing now the importance of having water, because people are coming into stores like the dollar store (I have inside knowledge) asking if any water is in stock. So far water shortages are going to be happening more if the trucks don’t deliver regularly.

My plan is to start going through other avenues to access clean drinking water. I like filtered water, but natural spring/alkaline is better. I know of a black owned water company that serves the DMV and I’ve purchased from them in the past. I have to buy a membership from them soon. By the way, I will share this business among others on here today or some time this week. Back to what I was saying, I’m going to start buying water again from the black owned business. The only reason why I haven’t been purchasing from the shop is because I haven’t had time. My mother and I have to drive to another county to pick up the water, but we will just have to plan on going forward with it at least once a month if not most.

I must give credit to people like Queen Ahmadiyyah Shakur because she has always stressed for our people to stock up on food and water since the fall of 2020. I can remember seeing videos of people in grocery stores and the shelves were empty and I’ve seen someone in Walmart saying the workers are being told to throw out non contaminated foods. I hate how many people here (especially white folks) waste food. The waste of food also comes along with product contamination/recalls which Queen Shakur always reports on. I remember her questioning are people being told to throw out their food so that they have nothing to eat. I don’t think we truly understand the severity of this. For instance, just imagine going to the grocery store and buying food. You come home and get alerted that the same food you just purchased may be contaminated and you’re ordered to discard it. Now what, and do you see the problem?

I don’t want to keep on going on about this part, but I just feel like something isn’t right for a company to manufacture food and not be 100% sure that the equipment is properly sanitized, other health regulations are followed to a T, and no food becomes contaminated.

These issues are pushing me to purchase more local food products and continuing to visit farmer markets. The only bad thing about farmer markets (ones I am aware of) are the farmers are white, but at this point you patronize where you can for the best products (just as long as you don’t deal with anti-black racism). Another issue is farmers markets are open from May to October/December. The one I have been visiting for some years now extended their services until December. But after that you have to go back to regular markets.

Back to survival, I need to attempt to grow in the apartment again. I had a bit of a hard time doing this due to lack of space, sun light exposure (I have to use a plant light), and equipment. I managed to get pepper plants started months ago, a leman seed sprout, and a avocado tree growing from the pit. It didn’t work out and I lost my focus. Another way I wanted to prepare was to began canning. I have the equipment in storage, but have yet to start. I think once I can regain my focus, I’ll be able to prepare more.

Great thread and right in alignment with our self sufficiency thread. If we aren’t planning for our survival it will end bad for us.
Thank you. 👍🏾 I agree. We can do things for preparation even though we will fall short of something. But when that time comes I don’t want to be in the midst of chaos.

I wish I had some people to do some self-sufficient things with. No family. No friends. It has been a one man army over here unfortunately.
You aren’t alone. There are people out here who have the same mindset as you. Just be careful if you decide to link up with people. All I have is the family who I live with as far as survival. We can talk about everything, but when it comes to a certain relative they’ll complain if you have a bunch of water. Yet they’ll be the main ones asking for help when the time comes.

The toughest part is turning away those who did not prepare.

They will say something to the effect that "I didn't know this would happen." Help me!!!!!

I have been reading up on how to handle this. There are only two people who will allow to come into my space in a disaster. Everyone else I have to turn away.

There are plethora of "what if" scenarios that could arise. I would focus on the most likely ones based on the part of the country you live in. I'm glad you only have a limited number of people you will help. The reason I say this is people need to get up and do what they can for themselves instead of spending all of their extra money on wants when they know things are getting worse in this country/world.

I have been prepping for the last few years. I have ways to cook without power indoors and outdoors. I have bottled water but also know people with wells if I need additional water sources. You need water purification tablets in case the water needs to be boiled. Plenty of canned goods, veggies, canned meats and ready-to-eat food in case of an EMP strike or power grid outages. Canning foods are good because you can store those items long term. I purchased beans, rice, flour, sugar and meal bulk and put them in mylar bags with oxygen absorbers to extend the shelf life for up to 25 years. I do something every single day. I'm going to buy some chickens with my son and we're going to build a coup. I have drink mixes, teas, and I started growing seedlings as well. I just relocated back home from FL.

We are in danger on the east and west coast. So much is going on. Done stop prepping. It's going to be bad when they flip the switch.

I would suggest that people buy in small batches since buying extremely large quantities of things would attract suspicion.

It's really late in the game to buy small. There are going to be shortages in staples like flour, sugar, tomatoes, and potatoes. People will have to do whatever they feel, but if the stock market crashes or we're hit by a war here at home, it's a wrap. The digital currency law kicks in December. Purchases will be easier for the government to track. At the end of the day, buying what you need to survive in case of SHTF or long lockdowns.

I don’t think people get how real this is. The system is on the brink of collapse and the government is gonna be the one to kick the leg out from under the chair.

Thank you for that reminder. I did hear Biden is promoting digital currency. I’m not down with the cash less society nonsense.

Isn't it to further how he support his drug addict son and carting away our money for their personal family nonsense which isn't been investigated so far.

We need to put more effort in making a lot of us out there be aware of how to work towards ensuring their survival because the government does not care.

Yes Hunter Biden is a drug addicted cave dweller who belongs in prison. His father is the biggest hypocrite ever. The racist language he used in the past backfired. I agree we need to do things for our own survival because the government doesn’t care. Just like what’s going on in Mississippi, the government isn’t helping its small organizations like the Black man who is supplying water from his own company.

Me neither. He is pushing what the powers that be want him to. Cashless society equals more control so they can see what we spend our money on.
Exactly. Remember months ago when there was an article posted about people who have over $600 in their bank accounts the IRS was going to monitor them?

This world will be one borderless country with one currency and one religion (Lucifer), etc that is controlled by humanoids which look like humans but are indeed robots. Social credit will be in existence as well. The more people kiss the system's butt, the more social credits they get which will allow them to have more "freedoms." The good people are going to be hopeless unless we become as independent as possible. I bet they ban everything they allows us to be self-sufficient.

Excellent thread. Water purification tablets are good to have stocked. I've mentioned in a different thread, becoming familiar with a tactical pen is useful. Due to my location, I've had to learn to do small experiments with my tactical pen.

Different sized bottles, plastic sheets, scoring on wooden planks. They are designed for using on glass, but I thought I would try it on some planks to test its capabilities. Would not recommend it to use on planks as it completely destroys the nib.

Thank you! I wanted to start this to learn from others regarding survival and share what I know and have done. This is the best site for this. I thank you for the tips. I have not purchased water purification tablets. I have searched for them on Amazon, especially a certain straw-like device that may suffice. Right now I just buy water from the store and drink filtered at home. I'm going to hit up a guy who works for a black owned water company so that I can get my subscription going every month. I feel like there's going to be more shortages in the coming months. Also, I am getting a bit more cautious with the water crisis in west Baltimore city. But those tablets are going to come in handy for emergencies only. This is another reason why I started this thread. I don't know everything in life, so it's great to learn from others and get a refresher. I have to get my focus back on what is most important. I believe a time will come where I will have to help loved ones. I will look up the tactical pen.

You're welcome! It is good to share knowledge and find useful tips. I got the water purification tablets, but hope I never have to use them. I'll also use them only in emergencies. I got my tactical pens from Amazon and Ebay. The tactical pens are sometimes called "kubaton". Hope this helps.

Yes it does help. Thank you again. I’m going to add these products to my list. I hope nothing happens, but it’s better to be prepared for whatever. I also need to get one of those portable outdoor+indoor stove. I have to go through what I have and don’t have. 👍🏾

I have been reading up on how to handle this. There are only two people who will allow to come into my space in a disaster. Everyone else I have to turn away.
Please share anything you've found useful....a lot of people are on my shit list rn. I don't think I'd help anyone outside of my immediate household at this point.

I don't remember if I said it in this thread already but one piece of advice that stuck with me is to never give anyone assistance directly. If someone is asking for food you never let them know you have any. Do not hand them can, drink, or anything. What you have to do is place the stuff in a public location for them to get it. But it can never be directly from you to them because if they get desperate they'll know you have supplies and kill you to get them.

There is a UK company that sells jerry cans made for filtering water from any source. They aren't cheap but they are worth it if you want to have a backup plan. They get you a lot of gallons and you can basically source water from wherever, even filthy swamps. I would recommend using them with clear streams and rain water though so the filters last longer. My dad is setting up a rain collection system.

Okay thank you. I’ll save up for a Berkey system. They are sold on Amazon. I want to have as many as gadgets I can get that will help with survival. I wish I could collect rain water. Isn’t that illegal in most states? I’ll have to look it up. We get a lot of rain in Maryland and it was raining so much about two weeks ago. We received the remnants of the Florida hurricane, but it rains here either way.

You're so welcome! It was very fortunate and timely that I ran across this article since I have a 92 year old aunt who is wheelchair bound.
Okay I understand. Blessing to you and your aunt. I am wheelchair bound due to spinal cord injury.

Blessings to you as well! We have to look after each other. We are all we have during these uncertain times.
