It's pretty arrogant to put yourself next to legends in my opinion. Despite that I like Umar's better as it is more artistic and stylish. Tariq's is going for photorealism which also looks good but doesn't flow as well because all the elder are pictures from the shoulders up while he has a half body profile.

Funny thing is. I can't think of one museum of any consequence that was bought and filled with things all within a year. Even ones with millions of dollars from rich donors or one fully funded by the government in any country whatsoever. Nor anyone expecting it at any time. I've seen some tiny azz roadside museums in my time as well. I also recall saying the same thing to some foreign Blacks about the museum and asked them to find one museum in their countries that bought or built and up and running within a year. Interesting thing is the convo got quiet.

Stuff like this never felt one way or the other for me. Like I get why people do it and I get why it is art but eh. I mean if it makes them happy and the community happy, go for it.
